The National Lottery and Farming Futures Fund (Distributed by the Landworkers Alliance) have funded a number of projects this year to increase food production to provide more fresh fruit and vegetables, grown agro- ecologically, to more people facing food insecurity. Sustainability, dignity and solidarity are at the heart of the initiative connecting producers with local people. The collaboration will progressively address the inequality around access to high quality fresh food.
Looking for different approaches to tackle food insecurity the funding initiative has selected Brighton CSA to reach out to people receiving food aid or facing food uncertainty empowering their community to grow food in their community.
With this aim in mind, we have designed a programme to help “kick-start” food growing projects locally. Our intention is to visit community groups on their patch, to share our skills, knowledge and resources. By working in partnership, alongside projects, we felt our encouragement and support would help enable development and pave the way to success
